St Fidelis Celebrates STEM MAD Showcase Success!
On Thursday 22 October, St Fidelis proudly hosted the 2026 STEM MAD Showcase, welcoming schools from across our local community to celebrate creativity, innovation and problem-solving.
Students presented approximately 26 inspiring prototypes designed to solve real-world problems and make a positive difference. Our young innovators demonstrated outstanding creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and engineering skills while sharing their ideas with visitors.
We were delighted to welcome our special guest judges, Ryan Evans from LEGO Masters, Adam from Akorn, Brendon from Immersive Education and Shelley, the Godmother of STEM. Their expertise and encouragement helped make the showcase a valuable and memorable learning experience for everyone involved.
Showcase Award Highlights
A fantastic achievement for St Fidelis was receiving third place in the Wellbeing Award for Quit It, an innovative prototype designed and created by our Year 5/6 students: Clara Perri, Madalen Silvestro, Hazel Munafo and Jeevan Joson.
Congratulations to the team on this wonderful achievement! Their creativity, teamwork and commitment to developing a solution that addresses a real-world wellbeing challenge were outstanding.
The showcase also celebrated student achievements across several award categories, including the STEM MAD Award, MTA Award, People’s Choice Award, Most MAD Award, Sustainability Award and Engineering Award. These awards recognised the creativity, ingenuity and positive impact of students’ ideas.
Congratulations to all our award recipients and every student who proudly presented a prototype. Each project represented hours of planning, designing, testing and refining ideas.
We sincerely thank our participating schools, dedicated teachers, volunteers, judges and generous sponsors, including Modern Teaching Aids (MTA) and Caulfield Grammar, for helping make this event such a success.
It was wonderful to see students sharing their ideas, learning from one another and demonstrating how STEM can make a real difference in our world. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for the 2027 STEM MAD Showcase!
Together, we are making a difference — one idea at a time!
