Foundation News

What a wonderful week of learning we have had in Foundation!
This week, our students became little detectives during a very special Religion lesson! A mysterious bag appeared in our classroom, filled with clues including a stethoscope, a doctor's uniform, a passport, a globe, a bible, a cross and a map of India. Our curious learners put their detective skills to the test, exploring the clues and completing their very own detective fact files to uncover who our mystery person might be! The following day, we discovered the inspiring story of Mary Glowrey, learning about her life and the wonderful work she did helping others. We even shared our discoveries with Mrs Watson, who was very impressed by our clever detectives and everything they had uncovered! We look forward to continuing this exciting learning next week.
In Writing, we have been exploring Colourful Semantics, learning how to make our sentences more interesting and detailed by including who, what doing and where. Using familiar fairy tales such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Three Little Pigs, our budding authors have been practising building sentences that tell us more about what is happening in a story. It has been wonderful to see their growing understanding and enthusiasm for writing!
On Friday, we had lots of fun celebrating Crazy Sock Day! Our classroom was filled with colourful, wacky and wonderfully creative socks, bringing plenty of smiles and laughter. We have also been making the most of the beautiful sunshine and warmer weather, enjoying opportunities to take our learning outdoors!
We look forward to another fantastic week of learning, laughter and fun in Foundation!
