Prep Adventurers Explore MoPA!
Our wonderful Prep students recently set off on a highly anticipated excursion to MoPA: The Museum of Play and Art in Sandringham.
As part of our Term 2 Project-Based Learning (PBL) unit, this excursion was designed to spark curiosity, ignite creative thinking, and give our youngest learners a hands-on experience with interactive design. From the moment we arrived, the museum was filled with the sounds of laughter, discovery, and plenty of "Look at this!"
MoPA’s uniquely immersive exhibits allowed the children to explore art, science, and engineering through pure play. Some of the day's highlights included:
- The Big Build: Working collaboratively to construct giant, imaginative structures.
- Art and Expression: Diving into sensory art spaces where students experimented with light, shapes, and textures.
- Active Exploration: Navigating climbing spaces that challenged their coordination and confidence.
Bringing the Inspiration Back to School
This trip wasn't just about having an amazing day out—it was a vital stepping stone for our current PBL projects! Back in the classroom, the Preps used their fresh inspiration from MoPA to help design exciting new spaces for our own school community, including our upcoming School Garden, Friendship Bench, and School Sign projects.
