House Swimming Carnival

The annual Brighton Secondary College Swimming Carnival was held at the Harold Holt Swim Centre on what could only be described as a perfect summer’s day. It was warm, sunny and ideal for a full day of competition and house spirit.
This year’s dress theme, Iconic Duos, Trios and Groups, brought colour and creativity to the pool deck. Students and staff embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, showcasing a fantastic range of costumes including Sesame Street characters, the Blues Brothers, Vacay Dads and Beach Mums, WWE Wrestlers, Crayons, Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked, Mario and Luigi, Curious George, The Wiggles and many more. The effort and energy on display added to the vibrant atmosphere and sense of community that makes this event such a highlight of the school calendar.
In the pool, we witnessed some outstanding individual performances, with students demonstrating impressive skill, determination and sportsmanship. The competitive spirit was matched by strong house pride, with the overall lead changing multiple times throughout the day, keeping everyone on edge right until the final events.
A crowd favourite once again was the Staff vs Student relay to close the carnival. Despite a valiant effort from staff, the students powered home in dominant fashion to cap off an exciting afternoon.
Congratulations to Kirby House for claiming the overall trophy on the day. A well-deserved victory!
Thank you to all students, staff and organisers who contributed to such a memorable event.
