Meet Our Wellbeing Team

Supporting students’ wellbeing is at the heart of what we do, and our dedicated Wellbeing Team is here to help every child feel safe, supported, and empowered at school. Our team includes Kylie (Psychologist) Katie, (Chaplain) and Jess (Counsellor), pictured left to right above, who work together across the week to provide guidance, care, and practical support for students and families.

Throughout the year, we run programs such as the Peer Support Program and the START Program for Year 7s, offer individual counselling, collaborate with outside professionals, and meet with families to ensure students have the tools and support they need to thrive.

If you feel your child could benefit from additional support, you can refer them through your Year Level Coordinator (YLC)

We are here to listen, guide, and help students navigate challenges, build resilience, and grow both academically and personally — because every student deserves to feel confident.

Transition to High School

Starting secondary school is a major transition that brings excitement, opportunity and challenge. New routines, multiple teachers, increased responsibility and changing friendships can feel overwhelming at times. It’s common for students to take several months to fully adjust.

Parents can support this transition by encouraging independence while still providing reassurance and structure. Small, consistent supports at home can make a significant difference to confidence and organisation during this period.

What parents can do:

  • Establish consistent morning and evening routines early
  • Help your child organise their bag, planner and uniform the night before
  • Ask open-ended questions (“What was the best part of today?”) rather than yes/no questions
  • Contact the school early if concerns arise — early support is most effective

What students can do:

  • Use a planner or digital reminder system for homework and deadlines
  • Ask teachers questions — this shows responsibility, not weakness
  • Expect some ups and downs while adjusting
  • Seek help from a trusted teacher or wellbeing staff member if feeling overwhelmed
