Careers – School Based Apprenticeship

The Head Start program in Victoria supports secondary school students to combine their senior schooling with a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship. It operates across 12 hubs in government schools, helping students secure paid, on-the-job training while completing their VCE or equivalent. 

Head Start coordinators work with students, parents, employers and training organisations to tailor pathway plans, ensure workplace safety and support successful transitions into full-time employment after school.

Congratulations to Alfie John, who has recently signed his apprenticeship with Quartz, a high-end carpentry company in the Bayside area, marking an exciting first step in his carpentry career.
