College Captains Update

Dear Brighton Secondary College Community,

At the beginning of the year, we emphasised as a College Captain Team that one of our core objectives must always be transparency.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been working closely with teachers to develop a system that not only supports this objective, but also better serves our community. For a long period of time members of the Brighton community have asked, “What do College Captains do?” and while the role is often seen as public speaking and getting photos taken, there is a far more happening behind the scenes.

In order to address this, we will be bringing the cameras into some of our College Captain and other meetings. We will also include a dedicated section as part of this Highlights newsletter showcasing the work completed during that period. This initiative strives to introduce a more open, unprecedented approach to student leadership at Brighton Secondary College.

The College Captain Team believe it’s important that our community understands what we truly do – not only to foster a more authentic connection between us and the student body, but also to inspire the next generation of leaders themselves.

We look forward to bringing you this initiative throughout the year and serving the Brighton Secondary College community with pride.
