First Whole School Assembly for 2026

Brighton Secondary College recently came together for our first whole school assembly of the year. It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect as a community and set the tone for the months ahead.
We were especially excited to formally welcome our new Year 7 students to the BSC community. Starting secondary school is a significant milestone, and it was fantastic to see our newest cohort already embracing school life with enthusiasm and confidence. An address from Peter Langham then warmly welcomed everyone back and outlined a clear and positive vision for the year ahead.
A highlight of the assembly was the presentation of leadership badges to our 2026 student leaders. These students have demonstrated commitment, integrity and a willingness to serve their school community. Congratulations to all of our leaders (see the complete list at the bottom of this article) – we look forward to the positive impact you will make in your respective roles throughout the year.
Our Sports Captains also took to the stage to review and celebrate the recent Swimming Carnival, recognising the outstanding performances, house spirit and overall success of the day. It was a great way to acknowledge the efforts of students and staff who contributed to such a memorable event.
We were also proud to welcome back our 2025 High Achievers, who returned to BSC for the first time since completing their secondary schooling. Their accomplishments were celebrated, and their presence served as an inspiration to our current students.
It was a strong and unified start to what promises to be another excellent year at Brighton Secondary College.
