Celebrating the Class of 2026

What a fantastic way to finish our final week of classes at Macleod College!

We have had a wonderful time celebrating our Year 12 students and recognising the hard work, commitment and achievements that have shaped their time at Macleod.

Our celebrations included a fantastic Valedictory Dinner at Casa D’Abruzzo, where we proudly recognised our College Valedictorian, Eliza Bennett, and celebrated the achievements of the entire cohort. We then headed to Upper Plenty Conference Centre for our Year 12 Retreat, providing an opportunity to relax, reflect and enjoy some final moments together as a year level before they attended their final College assembly.

These events were a great reminder of how far our students have come and the friendships, experiences and memories they will take with them beyond Macleod.

Congratulations to all our Year 12 students on reaching this important milestone. We also thank our families for their ongoing support and our staff for the many ways they have supported students throughout their senior years.

Now, it is time to turn our attention to the next stage.

For our VCE students, SWOTVAC and the exam period are here. Make the most of this time to revise, ask questions, seek support from your teachers and, importantly, look after yourselves.

Our VCE VM students should continue to focus on their scheduled classes and final assessments.

Enjoy the memories from the past week, be proud of what you have achieved, and give yourselves the best possible chance to finish the year strongly.

Congratulations, Year 12 Class of 2026. We wish you all the very best for the weeks ahead and whatever comes next!

Year 12 VCE Students – SWOTVAC

VCE students are welcome and encouraged to continue using the College facilities during SWOTVAC and to catch up with their teachers.

Please remember that you must sign in at Reception as a visitor each time you come to school so we know who is on site.

We also encourage you to organise times to meet with your teachers in advance. Staff are always happy to help, but may not be available at short notice.

VCAA exam reminder: Students must arrive at least 30 minutes before each exam and wear their full academic school uniform.

VCE VM Students

VCE VM students will continue with their scheduled classes before completing their final assessment on Friday 31 October.

Catch-up classes will run the following week for students who need to complete any outstanding work. Please ensure you attend all scheduled classes and communicate with your teachers if you need support to finalise your work.

VCAA Exam Dates

  • Week 4 – Tuesday 27 October: VCAA exams commence, alongside scheduled VCE VM classes.
  • Week 5: VCAA exams continue.
  • Week 6 – Thursday 12 November: Final Macleod College-hosted VCAA exam (Physics).
  • Week 7 – Tuesday 17 November: Final VCAA exam.

Week 10 – VCE Results and Awards Night

Thursday 10 December

VCE Results and ATAR – 7:00am

VCE results and ATARs will be released via the ATAR service from 7:00am. Mr Light and Ms Morante will contact students by phone to check in and congratulate them.

Awards Night – 5:30pm–8:00pm

Venue: The Centre, Ivanhoe.

Students attending Awards Night should meet Mr Light in the foyer at 5:30pm. Please note that this is not a ticketed event.

VCE certificates and subject awards will be presented during the evening.

Important Reminder – Save Your School Reports

All departing Year 12 students should download and save copies of their school reports before the end of the year.

Once your Compass profile is closed, you will no longer be able to access your reports. We regularly receive requests from former students who need copies for job interviews, university or TAFE applications and other purposes.

Please take a few minutes to save your reports now so you have them available whenever you need them in the future.

As we move through these final weeks, please keep an eye on Compass for updates and make sure you are organised for the important dates ahead.

Most importantly, take pride in what you have achieved, make the most of your final experiences as a Macleod student and finish the year on a positive note.

Good luck with the final stretch, Year 12!
