Primary Report

Term 4 is off to a flying start! We are enjoying some lovely warm weather and adjusting to daylight savings which affected the children’s energy levels for the first week or so. But we are all back to normal and into the swing of things.
I am pleased to announce that our Primary leaders for 2027 have been appointed. Before I do this, I would like to commend the efforts of all the Year 5 students who applied for these positions. They should feel very proud of themselves for being prepared to put themselves forward for the process and conducting themselves very well in the interviews. The 2026 leaders and I were most impressed with their presentations. After our deliberations and discussion of the students’ responses we are happy to announce our Primary College Captains: Ruby Prendergast and Ai Stella Jumilla along with our Deputy College Captains: Isaac Du Plooy and Isabella Taylor. These students have already taken on the responsibility of weekly assemblies and are doing a fabulous job. Congratulations to Ruby, Ai Stella, Isaac and Isabella.
This term we have the Life Education team back on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th November, to run the Relationships and Sexual Health Program. This program gives primary school students the knowledge and skills they need to understand the physical, social, and emotional changes that come with growing up. With curriculum-aligned, age-appropriate content, these sessions help children explore who they are, build safe and respectful relationships, and manage the changes of puberty in a healthy way. By creating a safe and supportive environment, the facilitators empower students to ask questions, express their feelings, and develop life skills that support their wellbeing and relationships into the future.
We have successfully commenced the swimming program for 2026. The students were very excited to get started on the first day, with all of them coming along prepared with their gear. Thank you to those parents who completed the survey which helps the swimming teachers compose the groups for their lessons. The children engage well with their swim teachers and the sessions have been very productive for everyone.
We will soon welcome our new Preps for 2027 in the Prep Transition Program commencing on Tuesday 11th November. These sessions give the children a taste of what’s to come when they start school next year, getting comfortable in the school environment and helps to alleviate some of the anxiety around starting school. Ms Tilly is looking forward to meeting our new little people.
Our end of year events calendar is also filling up with the following dates to note:
Year 6 -7 Transition Day – Tuesday 8th December
Meet the Teacher Day – Tuesday 8th December
Primary Awards Night – Tuesday 8th December
Year 6 Graduation Night – Wednesday 9th December
Movie Day and BBQ – Monday 14th December
Year 6 Big Day Out – Tuesday 15th December
Last day of the School Year – Friday 18th December 11:00am finish
Let’s make the rest of the term a happy and productive one and it will all be over for another year before we know it.
