Year 4 News
What a crazy and exciting week we have had in 4ZK! It has been a short week, but we have certainly made the most of every moment.
As mathematicians, students have been having lots of fun with hands-on activities exploring location and coordinates. They have been working as mathematical thinkers, using mathematical language, explaining their reasoning and collaborating to solve a range of challenges.
As inquirers, students have continued to explore the relationships between humans, animals, and the environment. It has been wonderful to see them make connections between our Inquiry learning, our novel and their own ideas about how humans can interact responsibly with the natural world.
As people of a faith-filled community, students have been learning about Mary MacKillop, exploring her life, her commitment to education and her incredible legacy of serving others. We will now turn our attention to Mary Glowrey, learning about her remarkable life and the ways she lived out her faith through her dedication to helping others.
As members of our school community, students also had the opportunity to celebrate Book Week with our wonderful parade. We were absolutely amazed by the creativity, effort and enthusiasm shown through the fantastic costumes. We also had the exciting opportunity to watch Australian author Will Kostakis live! It was wonderful to hear directly from an author and learn more about his writing journey, stories and experiences. Students were highly engaged throughout the session and enjoyed the opportunity to connect with an author as part of our Book Week celebrations.
As athletes, a huge well done to all of our 4ZK students who participated in the Athletics Carnival! We were so proud to see students getting involved, having a go, encouraging their peers and demonstrating fantastic sportsmanship. Whether they were competing, cheering from the sidelines or supporting their friends, it was wonderful to see the 4ZK spirit on display!
As we navigated a shorter week, we were also incredibly proud of those students who continued to engage with their home learning, check in with their parents and take responsibility for staying connected to their learning.
