Buildings and Grounds News

We are installing a Yarning Circle!  Last year our school was successful in receiving a schools upgrade grant to install a meeting place/yarning circle in our school grounds.  A yarning circle is a meeting place specifically designed to provide a safe space to talk and share ideas. This area will also serve as an outdoor learning space.

Initially this project was planned as an addition to our Capital works project, however due to the length of time that this project is taking we need to install our yarning circle in a different location at the top of the school near the seating area outside the staff room.

(please note - the image below is a suggestion only and not our final plan)

We are in the process of designing our yarning circle and gathering quotes. We are also in consultation with Aboriginal elders at Willum Warrain to assist us with accurate cultural connections. We are very excited about this project and will bring you updates as they develop. We hope to celebrate with an official opening of our Yarning Circle in June/July 2024.
