Course Counselling and Subject Selections for 2027

Planning for 2027 will soon begin for all current Year 8–11 students, with course counselling and subject selection activities taking place throughout the remainder of Term 2 and into the first weeks of Term 3.

Students will participate in a range of assemblies, information sessions and classroom activities designed to help them make informed decisions about their future learning pathways.

What does this mean for each year level?

Current Year 8 students will have the opportunity to select electives from a range of Arts and Technology subjects for Year 9.
Current Year 9 students will select subjects for Year 10 and may also apply to study a VCE Enhancement Subject in 2027.
Current Year 10 students will make important pathway decisions, including choosing between VCE, VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM), and School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs). A range of VET opportunities will also be available.
Current Year 11 students will select their Year 12 subjects and may request additional course counselling support if required.

Subject Expo – Wednesday 15 July

Families and students are encouraged to attend our Subject Expo, which will be held on Wednesday 15 July from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

The expo is primarily aimed at current Year 9 and 10 students and will include:

Presentations in the Performing Arts Centre (PAC)
Subject displays and information booths in the Library
Opportunities to speak directly with teachers about course options and pathways

Students will also have opportunities during school hours to visit subject displays and gather information.

Course Counselling Appointments

Current Year 9 and 10 students will participate in individual course counselling appointments on Tuesday 28 July. This day will be a student-free day for all Year 9 and 10 students, except for their scheduled counselling appointment. Parents will be strongly encouraged to attend these appointments with their child.

Appointment times and further information will be provided closer to the date.

Curriculum Handbooks and Subject Selection

Digital curriculum handbooks outlining all available subjects and pathways will be published online shortly.

Current Year 8 and Year 11 students will complete their subject selections independently through Web Preferences.
Current Year 9 and Year 10 students will finalise their selections following the course counselling process.

Important Dates

Wednesday 15 July – Subject Expo (4:00pm–5:30pm)
Tuesday 28 July – Year 9 and 10 Course Counselling Appointments
Friday 31 July – Subject Selections Due
