News from the Deputy Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

School Review

The end of the term is just around the corner, and the busyness of the school term is quickly coming to an end.

In the last term, I have been preparing documents ready for the upcoming review. There are two components to the review. The Improvement Dimension is overseen by MACS and the compliance review will be overseen by VCEA (Victorian Catholic Education Authority).

The improvement dimension is overseen by MACS and takes schools through self- the compliance dimension of school review will be overseen by The Victorian Catholic Education Authority (VCEA).Through an audit/verification process of the minimum standards and other requirements for registration, Child Safe Standards and other State and Commonwealth requirements for Victorian Catholic schools, both schools and MACS are ensuring that external legislative and regulatory requirements are being met.

The VCEA or VRQA compliance will go through an audit/verification process of the minimum standards and other requirements for registration, Child Safe Standards and other State and Commonwealth requirements for Victorian Catholic schools. This will take place on August 3 this year.  The MACS self-assessment section of the review will be overseen by an independent reviewer who will review documentation under our self-assessment tool and alongside the school improvement framework.

Part of my work in readiness for these days has been to update policies and find documents related to registration, child-safe standards, curriculum, and governance.

The process ensures that external legislative and regulatory requirements are met.

Some of the most recently updated policies are the Student Behaviour Policy Suite.

These policies, along with our other policy documentation, can be found on our school website under the Current Parents tab, then click Policies.

Rebecca and I have also been working on some of our policies which have been written in child-friendly language. These will be presented to our students over the coming weeks.

Upcoming PSG Meetings

PSG Meetings for Term 2 will be held on Friday, 12th June, Monday, 15th June, and Tuesday, 16th June.

Meeting links for upcoming appointments will be emailed to families over the weekend.

It is important that families of students on NCCD attend the meetings to provide teachers with feedback on their children's progress and to set goals with teachers for the upcoming term.

Looking forward to hearing about your children's progress.

Have a great week ahead,

Katie
