Geography

We have been learning about different climates around Australia and our neighbouring countries - such as New Zealand, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.  We have been linking the climate to a place's natural features.  For example, in desert climates, there is sandy soil and smaller, spiky plants, whereas in rainforests there is rich soil and an abundance of trees and animals.  To help us process some of this 'heavy' reading, students have made drawings and added labels, discussing each environment and climate with their partner.  Next, we move from natural to managed and human-made features.

We Want Your Holiday Photos...

If you have photos from around Australia or one of our neighbouring countries that you are happy to share with the class, we would love to receive them.  We could use these to sort images of natural, managed and human-made resources.
