你 好 (ni hao)

Another fantastic week in the Senior School!

Our Year 5/6 students have continued exploring Australia's history by investigating significant events in the Australian Civil Rights Movement. Through their research, students have been developing their understanding of important events such as the Freedom Rides, the 1967 Referendum, the Mabo Decision, and the National Apology, while considering their impact on Australian society today.

In Writing, students have begun planning and drafting information reports based on their chosen civil rights event. We have been focusing on crafting engaging introductions, organising information effectively, and developing clear and informative body paragraphs to support readers' understanding.

In Mathematics, students are exploring Cartesian products and investigating different ways to identify, organise, and represent combinations in a range of real-world scenarios. Students have been challenged to think systematically and explain their mathematical reasoning.

As Gala Day approaches next week, excitement is building across the Senior School! Students have been working hard to refine their sporting skills, strengthen teamwork, and practise effective communication as they prepare to compete alongside other local schools. We look forward to seeing their enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and perseverance on the day.

That's all for now!

Warm regards,

The Senior Team

Nick, Julia, Amanda, Gabby, Jonny, Miss Liu, Roz, Miss Teo, Ciara, Jess and Sam
