Junior School

你 好 (ni hao) Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 families,

This week in Grade 2, students utalised their strength of creativity in various ways. As a continuation of our English text study unit Respect by Aunty Muir ... , students were insprired by the illustrations to create their own collaborative class book. They wrote their own descriptive sentences and paragraphs, focusing on using a range of adjectives and adverbs. It was wonderful to see students describe what they can see, feel and hear in different settings. Within 2E, we also then typed up and published our sentences using the Chomebooks. This was a great opportunity for students to apply the skills they have been learning, practising typing, and experimenting with changing the font, size and colour.

Throughout Guided Inquiry this term, students have brainstormed and designed their own pollution sollution to reduce waste and keep the water ways clean. They will now create a 3D representation of their design. Students begun to design their diorama, focusing on creating the setting for their pollution solution. It was impressive to see students using teamwork, perseverance and problem-solving skills to create intricate details in their dioramas. Keep your eyes out on Seesaw for these later in the term.

Have a great long weekend and stay warm!

Melinda (Miss Emmett) & Ash (Foundation), Beth, Cassie & Suzie (Year 1), Shaye, Emma, & Chelsea (Year 2)
