Chesterfield Farm

On Monday, our Foundation students enjoyed an exciting excursion to Chesterfield Farm as part of their inquiry unit, "How Did That Get in My Lunchbox?" Students had the opportunity to learn where many of the foods they eat every day come from and gained a deeper understanding of the journey food takes from farm to table. They explored the farm, met a variety of animals, and participated in hands-on activities that helped bring their classroom learning to life.

Reconciliation Week continues

This week, we continue to acknowledge and celebrate National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June), a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

Throughout the week, students have been unpacking the significance of Reconciliation Week in their classrooms through a range of age-appropriate learning experiences and discussions. These opportunities encourage our students to develop a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and perspectives, while reflecting on the role they can play in building respectful relationships and a more inclusive future.

Division Cross Country

Congratulations to the 11 students who proudly represented our school at the Division Cross Country Championships this week. Well done on your outstanding effort, determination, and achievement. Competing at this level is a fantastic accomplishment. We are incredibly proud of the way you represented our school. Thank you for being such positive ambassadors for our school community.

Industrial Action Update

We thank our community for their patience and support during the recent enterprise bargaining actions across Victoria. Following an in-principle agreement between the Department of Education and the Australian Education Union (AEU), all industrial action related to negotiations for the new Victorian Government Schools Agreement has now been suspended.

Student reports will continue to show achievement against the Victorian Curriculum F–10, however due to industrial action undertaken earlier this term, some teachers who are AEU members will not include  written comments in Semester 1 reports.

We welcome you to discuss your child's progress at parent teacher interviews which will be held in Week 2 of Term 3.

Dates for Your Diary

Please note that there will be a Curriculum Day tomorrow,  Friday 5th June, with students not required to attend school on this day.

This will be followed by the King’s Birthday Public Holiday on Monday 8th June.

Enjoy the long weekend.
