Week 7
This week we launched our new Taste Trek theme, exploring food, cooking, and nutrition through a range of exciting hands-on experiences!
Our Breakfast Club menu included delicious blueberry smoothies, rainbow waffles, yoghurt cones, and mini croissants. It was wonderful to see the children enjoying a variety of healthy and tasty breakfast options before starting their school day. Our Snack Squad was another big hit, with children enjoying veggie burgers and hash browns, tacos, warm garlic bread and tomato soup to help beat the cold weather, and mini pizzas to finish off the week. As part of our Taste Trek activities, children developed their cooking skills by baking funfetti chocolate cake, brownies, and cupcakes which they then decorated themselves. We also explored the different food groups, created our own recipe books, and completed food-themed mazes and word searches that encouraged learning through play.
During National Reconciliation Week, children participated in meaningful activities to celebrate and learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. We created handprints for our Indigenous display and decorated Indigenous-patterned lunch boxes and backpacks to take home. These experiences provided opportunities for discussion, creativity, and reflection while supporting children's understanding of culture and community.
Our other creative experiences included designing animal masks, experimenting with puffy painting, and creating our own mini basketball hoops. These activities encouraged imagination, creativity, and fine motor skill development. Children also enjoyed a variety of physical activities throughout the week including soccer, skipping, and a wide range of indoor and outdoor group games. These experiences promoted teamwork, collaboration, communication, and gross motor skill development while ensuring everyone stayed active and engaged.
Pupil Free Day – World Environment Day
Our Pupil Free Day was themed around World Environment Day, with children participating in a range of environmentally focused experiences. Using recycled materials, children worked creatively to design and build their own castles while learning about the importance of reusing resources.
Children also baked cupcakes from scratch and decorated them to look like Earth, combining cooking skills with environmental awareness. One of the highlights of the day was our exciting Balloon Rocket Experiment, where children explored simple science concepts through hands-on discovery and experimentation.
To keep active throughout the day, children participated in soccer games and worked together to create their own group games, encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. It was a fantastic day filled with learning, fun, and environmental awareness.

Cancellation of Bookings
IMPORTANT: If your child is booked in for an afternoon Stay and Play session and that booking is no longer required, please cancel the booking on the iParent Portal. If you are cancelling on the day, please contact us on the program phone before 3:25pm to avoid a non-notified absence fee of $20.00 per child.
We are responsible for all children booked into our care. If a child does not arrive after school care when booked in to attend, we will need to confirm the whereabouts of the child by contacting parents/guardians and emergency contacts. If we cannot successfully do this, it then becomes a missing child incident.
As you can imagine, this can be very stressful!
Thanks for your cooperation by notifying us of any Stay and Play absences.
