TERM 3 HOLIDAYS – YEAR 12 PRACTICE EXAM CYCLE
We know one of the most effective ways to improve student results in VCE is for students to complete and receive feedback on as many practice exams as possible. Therefore, we are running a formal Year 12 practice exam cycle during the first three days of the Term 3 holidays.
These will be run just like the actual Year 12 exams. We will employ invigilators to supervise the exams, and the exact conditions as those for the VCAA exams will apply to this exam cycle. Students will be given an exam timetable and expected to be in full college uniform.
We are expecting Year 12 students will be able to make the most of this opportunity and consequently improve their VCE results. Students have been emailed their individual exam timetables.
REPORTS AND PARENT/STUDENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
As usual, we will shortly release interim reports to parents. Please go through this with your child to help evaluate and set future goals. We will be offering families the opportunity to meet with teachers on Tuesday 13 October. We encourage students to attend these conferences.
F1 TRIP
The Term 2 holidays provided an exciting opportunity for 15 students to travel to England, Germany and Vietnam as part of an international study tour. A particular highlight was attending the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. While the finish was somewhat disappointing for Hamilton fans, with the Safety Car on track for several laps, the overall experience was fantastic, and Ferrari still took pole position.
Throughout the trip, students visited a range of museums and had the opportunity to tour the Land Rover, Red Bull, Mercedes and Porsche facilities, gaining a fascinating insight into automotive engineering and seeing vehicles being assembled firsthand.
The group also spent a day exploring Hanoi before beginning the return journey to Australia. Students were accompanied by Sam Alexander (Science Learning Area Facilitator and trip organiser), Andrew Greville and myself. It was a memorable experience for everyone involved.

A WARM WELCOME FOR MR EZRA OMOLLO’S FAMILY
It was a wonderful weekend for Mr Ezra Omollo when his wife, Lavender, and daughter, Chelsea, arrived in Mildura. Mr Omollo has hardly stopped smiling since their arrival! Students also helped make them feel welcome by creating cards for Lavender and Chelsea.
