It was an early start for the Year 9 students when they departed Mildura on Thursday 10 September for their trip through the Red Centre. After spending time in Port Augusta, Woomera, Coober Pedy, Alice Springs and Kings Canyon, our travellers arrived at Uluru on Wednesday 16 September.

During their journey, the students discovered interesting facts about local history, native flora and fauna, and the Indigenous cultures who have cared for these lands for tens of thousands of years.

They also learned how to prepare a campsite, including setting up their own tents. All in all, this once in a lifetime experience provided the Year 9 students with a deeper knowledge of First Nations cultures and a renewed appreciation for the captivating beauty of Australia. They return to Mildura via Melbourne late on Friday 18 September for some well-earned rest over the school holidays.
