VET TOURISM

Our VET Tourism students have had a great term exploring the many tourism opportunities our region has to offer. Through industry visits, excursions and hands-on learning experiences, they have stepped outside the classroom to discover local attractions, meet industry professionals and gain a real insight into the tourism and hospitality sector.

A highlight of the course has been the creation of a student-led tourism guide, where students researched, visited and reviewed local destinations to design a free day-trip experience for others to enjoy. It has been great to watch students grow in confidence, strengthen their communication and teamwork skills, and develop a deeper appreciation for the unique experiences available right here in Sunraysia.

Students have also taken important steps towards future employment by completing their Food Handler and Barista training, with their Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification to be completed in the coming weeks. These qualifications provide valuable practical skills and open up opportunities for part-time work while studying at St Joseph’s College.
