EHS Open Girls Netball Central Venue Day

The Elderslie High School Open Girls Netball Team competed at the Macarthur Zone Central Venue Day and placed 1st overall. The girls were undefeated! Well done to the team; Charli Smith, Alira Wolstencroft, Sincere Teiotu, Indie Smith, Annalise Smith, Ruby Domanski, Junaiah Gray, Hayley Laws, Charlotte McKenzie, Mia Piliae, and Ella Malcolm.

 

EHS Open Boys Volleyball Central Venue Day

The Elderslie High School Open Boys Volleyball Team competed at the Macarthur Zone Central Venue Day and placed 6th overall. This was the first time the team played in a competition together and they look forward to coming back stronger next year. Well done to the team;  Christian Michael-Granger, Aidyn Steel, Ben Cartner, Marcus Green, Heath Shearer, Riley Skrzypek, Jett Formosa, Ian Tran, Erin Van Niekerk, Jesse Webber, Sirapat Ninpuan and Leonardo Santos. 

 

SSW Secondary Netball Team

Charli Smith and Ella Malcolm were selected to represent the Sydney South West Secondary Netball Team at the NSW Combined High Schools Sports Association Championships in Coffs Harbour. The girls demonstrated outstanding commitment and skill to earn selection in the representative team and proudly represented both Elderslie High School and the Sydney South West region throughout the championships.

 

Congratulations to Charli and Ella on this fantastic achievement.

Congratulations to Year 11 student Charli on her selection and competing at the NSW All Schools Netball Tournament. The NSW Team won the Tournament - GOLD to NSW!

SSW Secondary Boys Football Team

Aidan Fenner proudly represented the Sydney South West Secondary Boys Football Team at the NSW Combined High Schools Sports Association Championships in Kellyville. The team enjoyed a strong start to the tournament, displaying excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Aidan represented Elderslie High School with pride and contributed positively both on and off the field.

SSW Secondary Girls Football Team

Helayna Gibson represented the Sydney South West Secondary Girls Football Team at the NSW Combined High Schools Sports Association Championships in Newcastle. The team faced strong opposition across the three-day tournament and produced several impressive performances, finishing in an outstanding 5th place overall. Helayna demonstrated dedication, skill and sportsmanship while proudly representing Elderslie High School and the Sydney South West region.

SSW Secondary Girls Hockey Team

Zaraiah Rose Lang was selected to represent the Sydney South West Secondary Girls Hockey Team at the NSW Combined High Schools Sports Association Championships in Albury. Competing against some of the state's best players, Zaraiah demonstrated commitment, determination and teamwork throughout the championships while proudly representing Elderslie High School and the Sydney South West region.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

Our Duke of Edinburgh program continues to thrive, with several students recently completing their Bronze Award. Congratulations to Ella, Charlotte, Katherine, Zach, Jackson, Alex and Georgia on this fantastic achievement. These students have now commenced work towards their Silver Award, and we look forward to supporting them through the next stage of their Duke of Edinburgh journey.

WSW 5-a-Side Football Tournament

We recently participated in the WSW 5-a-Side Football Tournament, taking a total of six teams to compete. All students represented the school with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the day. A special congratulations goes to our Years 9–10 team, who finished 1st overall and have secured a place in the finals next term. We wish them the best of luck as they prepare for the next stage of the competition.

House Activities

Our House Captains have done an excellent job organising and leading a range of activities this term. Students recently took part in a Round Robin Oztag Tournament, with Razorback (Red House) emerging as the overall champions. Students also showcased their creativity in a Paper Plane Competition, which generated plenty of excitement and friendly rivalry across the Houses.

 

Looking ahead, we are excited for our upcoming Jersey Day next term. The event will feature a major raffle with an impressive collection of signed memorabilia from a variety of sporting codes, including AFL, A-League and Netball teams. More details will be shared with families closer to the event.

 

Opens Girls Basketball 

The EHS Opens Girls Basketball Team competed in the Macarthur Zone Knockout Central Venue Day. All students performed incredibly, winning 2 out of 3 of their games. Well done to all of the girls involved!

EHS Cross Country Age Champions 

Congratulations to the following students who were successful in being age champions for this year's cross-country carnival. Will Cosgrove (12 years boys), Olivia Wilson (12 years girls), Austin Kelly (13 years boys), Isabelle Davis (13 years girls), Jet Eames (14 years boys), Annalise Realph (14 years girls), Mohamed Sheriff (15 years boys), Chloe Young (15 years girls), Aidan Fenner (16 years boys), Charli Smith (16 years girls, Aidyn Steel (17 years boys), Helayna Gibson (17 years girls), and Lauren Kubisch (18 years girls).

EHS Cross Country - 50th Anniversary 

EHS held the annual cross-country carnival. This being the 50th anniversary of the school, we had special guest Sharon Lavender start all of our races for the day. Sharon was the first age champion in the school's opening year in 1976. Everyone is to be congratulated on their efforts and participation throughout the day.

NSWCHS U14s AFL Carnival

Jake Laid and Patrick Sheahan of Year 8 represented SSW from the 12th-14th of May at the SSW U14s AFL Carnival. Being coached by Miss Dempsey, the boys worked extremely well and competed to the best of their ability across the 3-day championship.

Opens Girls and Boys Touch Footy 

Congratulations to both the boys and girls touch footy teams who represented EHS this Monday at the Macarthur Touch Footy CV Day. Unfortunately, neither team progressed to the next stage, but both teams worked exceptionally hard especially in the terrible weather conditions.

Macarthur Zone Cross Country Carnival 

A number of our EHS students competed in the Macarthur Zone Cross Country Carnival at Onslow Oval. All students worked really hard and competed exceptionally on the day. Amongst those is Austin Kelly of Year 7 who was the 13 years boys age champion.

 

Congratulations to the 17 students who advanced to the SSW Cross Country Carnival.

State Representation

Annalise Realph of Year 9 represented the state as she competed in the NSW All Schools competition for the U14s Girls AFL in Albury. Congratulations to Annalise on this amazing accomplishment.

SSW Cross Country Carnival 

Congratulations to all EHS students who represented the Macarthur Zone at the SSW Cross Country Carnival. The following students have advanced to the next round to compete at the NSWCHS Cross Country Carnival taking place in July. Isabelle D (Year 7), Charlotte D (Year 10), Austin Kelly (Year 7 ), Mohamed Sheriff (Year 10), and Aidyn Steel (Year 11).

SSW Cross Country

Chloe Young represented the Macarthur Zone at the Sydney South West Cross Country Championships. Chloe delivered an outstanding performance in the 15 Years Girls event, placing 1st overall with a time of 15:55. This exceptional result reflects Chloe's dedication, determination and commitment to her training.

 

Congratulations to Chloe on this remarkable achievement and for representing Elderslie High School and the Macarthur Zone with pride.

NSW CHS Hockey Championships

Benjamin Osborne, Campbell Osborne, Archie Hogan and Spencer Hogan proudly represented the Sydney South West Hockey Team at the NSW CHS Hockey Championships. The boys demonstrated excellent skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournament while competing against some of the strongest school hockey players from across the state.

 

We also had Spencer Hogan make the CHS 15's Hockey squad with his brother Archie named as a shadow.

 

Congratulations to Benjamin, Campbell, Archie and Spencer on their representative achievements and for representing both Elderslie High School and the Sydney South West region with pride.

SSW Orienteering Championships

Aidyn Steel of Year 11 proudly represented Sydney South West at the SSW Orienteering Championships and achieved an outstanding result, placing 1st in the Senior Boys division. Aidyn demonstrated exceptional navigation skills, endurance and determination throughout the course, finishing an incredible 20 minutes ahead of the next competitor.

 

Congratulations to Aidyn on this remarkable achievement and for representing Elderslie High School with pride.

 

Open Boys Soccer Team

The Open Boys Soccer team participated in a knockout tournament at Doohan Reserve, Oran Park. The day began with a narrow 1-0 loss to Camden, who scored a late goal to win the match. Our final match for the day was against Elizabeth Macarthur, which ended in a nil all draw.

 

Full credit must be given to the team for their effort and dedication in every game! Well done!!

Open Girls Soccer Team 

Our Open Girls Soccer team took to the park as part of the Macarthur Zone Knockout Competition. Against some tough opponents, our girls held their own and played their hearts out, but unfortunately were not successful in advancing to the final.

 

As always, we are proud of their sportsmanship, teamwork and effort, and we look forward to watching the team grow in the years ahead. We also thank our captain and team stalwart, Ashlee T, who played her last game on the pitch for EHS.
