Principal's Report

50th Anniversary
We are excited to announce that Elderslie High School will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary later this year! Please save the date for our Open Day and Dinner event on Saturday, 5th September. This special occasion will be a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together and celebrate five decades of achievement. More details will be shared on our Facebook page as the event approaches, so we encourage all families and alumni staff and students to stay tuned. We also congratulate our talented CAPA Faculty for coordinating the spectacular musical production of Mamma Mia, where alumni and current students delivered an outstanding performance. A huge thank you goes to the CAPA staff, students, and alumni for their dedication and commitment to producing such a high-quality show that truly highlighted the spirit of our school.
HPGE
We are pleased to offer the HPGE Extension class and the Technology Elective class for Year 7 students in 2027. These classes provide enriched learning opportunities, and our students consistently achieve excellent academic results and strong attendance. Our dedicated teachers have undertaken specialised professional learning to ensure each learning environment is engaging and supportive. Families of enrolling students are encouraged to contact the school for more information and to apply for placement in these classes.
In addition to these classes Elderslie High School offers a wide range of opportunities for High Potential and Gifted students to develop their skills and interests across multiple domains. Our programs provide differentiated learning tasks that enhance enrichment through higher-order thinking and tailored challenge. We offer advanced learning pathways including Extension and Technology classes, participation in statewide STEM and Agriculture enrichment, academic competitions, leadership teams, and extensive CAPA and sport programs. Our partnerships with industry and universities further deepen intellectual curiosity, preparing students to achieve personal excellence and succeed in their future pathways. Please reach out to the school if you wish to find out more about these opportunities for your child.
School Beautification
Recent improvements to Elderslie High School have focused on enhancing both the appearance and environment of our campus to inspire learning and foster school pride. We have pressure cleaned walkways and corridors, painted brickwork, and installed vibrant wall wraps in the TAS, Science, and HSIE buildings. These upgrades not only improve the visual appeal throughout the school but also create welcoming and stimulating spaces for students as they move between classes. As we prepare to celebrate our 50th Anniversary, ongoing maintenance and physical improvements remain a priority to ensure our school continues to be a safe, attractive, and inspiring place for all. The next focus areas are the hall and quad where these improvements will progress throughout Semester 2.
Parent Teacher Night - Term 3
Parent Teacher Night will be held on Tuesday, 28th July. Parents will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to book appointments through the Parent Portal. This will be a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and address any questions you may have. Please note that Year 7-10 mid-year reports will be distributed to students during the last week of this term, providing important information to guide discussions during the evening. We encourage all parents to take advantage of this event to support their child’s learning journey.
Starting from Semester 2, the school will no longer send home paper copies of student reports. Instead, parents will be able to access their child’s reports conveniently through the Parent Portal. This digital method allows parents to view, download, and save the reports for future reference at any time, making it easier to keep track of their child’s progress while also supporting our commitment to sustainability. If you need any assistance accessing the Parent Portal, please refer to instructions emailed to your account.
