Fire Carriers

On Monday morning, our Fire Carrier Leaders headed into the city for an inspiring Cultural Immersion excursion. They visited First Nations exhibitions at the Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia and the Koorie Heritage Trust at Federation Square. Guided by Alisha at the Ian Potter Centre, students explored over 150 bark paintings and discovered how each piece represents an individual connection to Country, family, ancestors, and culture. Later, at the Koorie Heritage Trust, they engaged deeply with the Weaving the Everywhen: Connecting with Deep Country in the present exhibition, making thoughtful connections between materials, labels, and stories. Miss Kim and Miss Melanie were immensely proud of the students' respectful behaviour, curiosity, and the insightful questions they asked throughout the day. Well done, Fire Carrier Leaders!

We highly recommend visiting the Ian Potter Centre and the Koorie Heritage Trust with your family.
