Welcome to Term 4
Mrs. Debbie Terry and Miss Jane
Below are some important dates for you to mark in your calendar!
On Monday we had Tracey and Baruch come to talk to the Year 3/4s about disability inclusion, innovation, community, accessibility and human rights. This is tied into our Inquiry unit this term called Allies for Inclusion where students will be exploring themes of fairness, inclusion, and accessibility. They will learn about the difference between rules and laws and discover how we can celebrate individual differences while showing empathy toward others.

This term in Literacy, we are reading The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate, the narrative text for Term 4. Students will explore the characters, themes and language features of the novel while developing their reading comprehension and response skills. We will also focus on spelling patterns, vocabulary development and grammar, including constructing and improving sentences. In writing, students will explore persuasive texts, learning how to develop strong arguments, support their opinions with evidence and use persuasive language to engage their audience.
Last week we took advantage of some beautiful weather last week and were delighted to do some reading out in the peace garden. It was a lovely way to spend a Friday morning!!
