Our Vision

Each child has a gift or talent. It is our job to find it and to show it to them.

Our Mission

Identify the talent, develop the confidence and create the leader.

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

Dear Families,

As we come to the end of another busy term, there has been plenty to celebrate across Le Page.

Our Year 5 and 6 students returned from Camp Woorabinda last Friday full of stories, proud of their achievements and, understandably, a little exhausted! From tackling the high ropes course to taking on new challenges with their friends, the students made the most of everything camp had to offer. Staff reported that the students were very well behaved and represented Le Page beautifully. Most importantly, they had a fun and memorable experience. In Week 3 of Term 4, it will be the turn of our Year 3 and 4 students, who will head off for their own three-night camp adventure.

A big thank you once again to our Social and Fundraising Team for organising the Father’s Day gifts. The gifts were very well received by dads and other special people in our students’ lives. We greatly appreciate the time and effort that goes into making these opportunities possible.

On Tuesday, many of our Year 4-6 students represented Le Page at the Kingston District Athletics after qualifying through strong performances at our school athletics day at Dolomore Oval. A few students again performed very well and have now progressed to the regional competition, which will be held in Term 4. Congratulations to all students who represented our school, and especially to those who have qualified for the next level.

Wednesday was another busy day. We welcomed several of our 2027 Prep students for another transition session. It was wonderful to see the children becoming more comfortable in the school environment, meeting future classmates and beginning to build connections with staff. Our Prep transition program will continue throughout Term 4 as we prepare our newest students for the exciting start to school next year.

Also on Wednesday, our Year 5 and 6 Teeball Team competed in the State Finals. Reaching this level is a terrific achievement. The team gave everything they had, worked together and continued to apply their skills and strategies throughout the competition. We are very proud of the way they represented Le Page.

Over the past three weeks, we have also held our Student Support Group meetings. These meetings are an important opportunity for families and staff to come together, celebrate student progress and plan the next steps in learning and wellbeing. Reviewing Individual Education Plan goals, targets and adjustments remains at the centre of these conversations, ensuring that we continue to respond to the individual needs of our students.

Today we finished the term with plenty of colour, footy spirit and the smell of a sausage sizzle across the school. Students and staff wore their footy colours and enjoyed a delicious BBQ organised by our Social and Fundraising Team. Thank you to everyone involved for helping us finish the term on such a positive note.

There is already plenty to look forward to in Term 4. World Teachers’ Day falls on Monday 5 October, and Courtney Mason, our Education Support Staff and I will take the opportunity to celebrate and thank our teachers. Their knowledge and expertise are incredibly important, but so too are the generosity, care and kindness they bring to their classrooms every day. These qualities make a real difference to our students and are at the heart of great teaching.

During the first week of Term 4, Richard Earl will also lead our school choir in a performance for the residents of Kingston Green. The students have been rehearsing and are looking forward to sharing their music. I am sure their performance will bring plenty of smiles and joy to the residents.

Student wellbeing will continue to be a strong focus next term under the leadership of our Wellbeing Leader, Marisha Telegin. Using information from our wellbeing tracker, students have been identified for a range of small-group programs including Peaceful Kids, Play Therapy, Mindfulness, Body Bright for our Year 4 and Year 6 girls, and a boys’ wellbeing program led by Nick D and Nick O. These programs give students additional opportunities to develop confidence, emotional awareness, positive relationships and strategies that support their wellbeing.

We will also welcome two Monash University students who will continue their placement with us during Term 4. They will work alongside Yashwani and Marisha and assist with small-group programs as part of their university requirements, with their work supervised by Courtney.

Thank you to our students, staff and families for everything you have contributed throughout Term 3. Schools are busy places, and a great deal has been achieved over the past ten weeks.

I wish all our students, families and staff a peaceful and restful school holiday break. Enjoy the opportunity to slow down, spend time with family and friends and return refreshed for what promises to be another exciting term at Le Page.
