Term 3 Week 10 2026 - Friday 21st, September.
What have we been up to?
We can’t believe that we are already at the end of term 3! Time absolutely flies when you're having fun! We have had such a wonderful term, full of excursions, learning new things and exploring new ideas. We can’t wait to see what term 4 holds for us!
We were very lucky to have students from Monash university join us for the Teddy Bear hospital! We brought our teddies to school and helped them through 9 stations that helped us understand that a doctor's visit can be a fun and exciting experience. From X-raying our teddies, to making a cast, our teddies were very well looked after.
We are already hearing about your holiday plans, from airplane trips to camping getaways. We can't wait to hear about them when we come back to school on the 5th October!

In Literacy, we have continued our topic of text analysis. We are exploring the book ‘Window’ by Jeanie Baker. This fabulous wordless book follows the life of a character through his window, allowing us to see how his life and his community changes every 2 years, from when he is born, to 24 years old! We have created our own windows with 6 fabulous sentences full of adjectives and words that make us say WOW! We have also created the view from a window, either from a safari trip, an airplane or a submarine! They look incredible!
This term, we are exploring the following in phonics:

In Maths, we finished our second wave of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. learning about different operations, and how we can figure out which operation to use. We are using bar models and the CUBES strategy to solve worded mathematical problems. The students synergised to solve 26 worded problems that unlocked a code key that connected to a code. The teamwork was fabulous to see!
In Inquiry, we are continuing to learn about the past and present in our community. This week we explored technology that was used in the olden days. We saw how items like computers and phones have changed so much! We reflected this week by creating a poster that shows how technology, toys, transport and schools have changed over time!
Important reminders:
- Hats are now required in term 4 as the sun is officially shining! Please continue to send your child to school with a water bottle each day
- We are continuing to send take home readers each week. Your child will not be able to take home a book without a reading satchel. If your child does not have one, please reach out to your classroom teacher. If you have any further feedback or questions regarding take home readers, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your classroom teacher.
