Junior School Report

Mr Nicholas Heading

How is it already week 4? We have hit the ground running in Junior School, and students have done a fine job at settling into the year ahead. Our new Year 7s have made the school their own, and quite a few new Year 8s have transferred over to join us in the area. Lots of fresh faces helps to keep the school buzzing. So far everything has been about exciting new beginnings for 2026!

It is a time of considerable growth for our College, and it has been a joy to see! This is our first year with six Year 7 homegroups in a very long time, and it is a testament to the wonderful opportunities that our school offers which has built this excitement and enthusiasm.

The GC Pool Party was a big success for our Junior students. I’ve never seen so many of our younger students keen for the water slides and entering the pool to earn some points for their House! This continues to be the best possible way to start off an exciting year!

Our merit cabinet will be up and running next week as well. Keep earning those merits so you can select some fantastic rewards for your hard work in demonstrating school values and displaying positive behaviours. We have everything from sporting equipment and lollies to art supplies and video game gift cards!

In other upcoming news, we have sorted out everything for the Year 7 Phillip Island camp in a few weeks’ time, and it has also been great to see so many Junior School students already getting involved in our school production of High School Musical! There are so many exciting things happening for Greensborough College’s newest students!

Thanks for a spectacular start to the year!
