Assistant Principal's Report
Mr Louis Turner AP Wellbeing and engagement
Term One has begun with a strong sense of energy and optimism across Greensborough College, with students settling quickly into routines and engaging positively with learning and school life.
Our Year 7 students have made an excellent start to secondary school. It has been wonderful to see them building friendships, navigating the school confidently, and forming positive relationships with staff. We are looking forward to welcoming families to our Year 7 Welcome BBQ later this term, which will be a great opportunity to connect and celebrate this important transition.
Our VCE students have also started the year with focus and purpose. Many recently attended a two day study camp at La Trobe University, where they participated in subject masterclasses, pathway and careers sessions, and study skills workshops. Alongside the academic focus, the camp provided valuable opportunities for students to strengthen peer connections and set clear intentions for the year ahead.
Over the holidays, significant work was completed on the painting of D Wing and HP Wing. These refreshed learning spaces look fantastic and contribute to a positive, welcoming environment for both students and staff. We appreciate the care students are showing in looking after these improved facilities as part of our shared responsibility for the school.
A continued focus this term is supporting students to be organised and ready to learn each day. Arriving at school with a fully charged laptop helps lessons run smoothly, reduces disruption, and supports a safe classroom environment. We appreciate the cooperation of students and families in reinforcing this simple but important expectation.
We are looking forward to another productive and positive term, with continued emphasis on inclusion, engagement and wellbeing, and strong partnerships between students, staff and families.
