Wellbeing

Hi! My name is Penelope Mantzounis and I am starting my placement at Mount Pleasant Road Primary School for my Masters of Counselling this week. I will be working across the school to support students 1:1 and in small groups, helping them navigating the challenges of everyday school life and acquire skills and strategies to support them in their social and academic endeavours. I enjoy sports and play soccer outside of my studying – I am looking forward to engaging in lots of activities wit the students at MPRPS.
Students who work with me will be selected via the school’s referral and triage process. If you would like to discuss supports for your child, please contact Jonny Hobbs via the school office.
Bullying – Important conversations to have with your child
We are proud to participate in the Bullying No Way: National Week of Action from 17–21 August 2026.
As part of the week, students will take part in a Brainstorm Productions incursion, focusing on building resilience, cyber safety, and bullying prevention. This will take place on Thursday 20th August.
Additionally, to show their support, students are invited to wear a splash of purple with their school uniform. This might include purple socks, hair accessories, or a long-sleeved purple top worn underneath their uniform.
We look forward to coming together as a school community to promote kindness, inclusion, and respect.
Community Crafternoon
In a few weeks, the Wellbeing Team will be hosting a Community Crafternoon, and you’re all invited!
Join us in the hall from 3:00–4:00pm (or drop in at any time that suits you) to say hello, take part in a simple craft activity to enjoy at home with your family, and connect with the Wellbeing Team. It’s also a great opportunity to learn more about the supports and services available at our school. Children are very welcome to join you after pick-up.
More information is available on Compass. If you have any questions, please contact the office or Kate Molloy.
