Music in Full Swing!

We are well into Term 3 and have all of our music cylinders firing along nicely! 

Term 2's Music Camp was our biggest yet, with a record number of ensembles taking part in 2026.

We followed this up with our first ensemble performances at the end of Term in the school Hall to very full audiences. 

This Term, we have already begun our performing regime with Beginner, Intermediate and Senior Strings completing their Victorian Schools Music Festival participation last week.

 A big congratulations to Intermediate Strings, who were awarded Gold this year (stepping up from bronze last year), and also to our Senior Strings, being awarded the highest award – Platinum! 

All three ensembles received wonderful feedback and we thank their conductors Mrs. Somerville, Mr. Hwang and Mrs. Willson. 

We also give a big congratulations to Rowan M (Year 8 Percussionist) who won three first place awards in the Victorian State Band State Championships. This was in the Under 22 category for side drum, timpani and tuned percussion. A huge achievement for Rowan! 

Tickets for our off-site concert at Box Hill Town Hall will also be available soon – keep an eye out for that announcement, as well as all upcoming VSMF and Royal South Street performances.
