Overall, we'd like to acknowledge the sportsmanship, teamwork, and school spirit that define the students of Box Hill High School. Players across all sports disciplines supported one another throughout competitions, built stronger connections as a team, and represented the school community with pride and respect. We are very proud of you!
What an incredible day at the SSV State Cross Country Championships held on Thursday 16 July at the Yarra Valley Racing Club, Yarra Glen!
We had 7 incredible BHHS students reach the State Championships - an impressive achievement in itself, and every one of our students should be extremely proud of their efforts and the way they represented BHHS.
Special congratulations to Year 10 student, Sienna M, on being crowned Girls U15 State Champion.

The Intermediate boys soccer team recently took to Darebin Sports fields brimming with confidence.
A tight tussle in the first half saw Balwyn take a 1-0 advantage. The boys rallied and continued to push the Balwyn defence with some good midfield play from Sashan K and Simon T. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to add to the scoreboard, losing 1-0.
The next game against Auburn was a lot more open, Troy D and Adam J were able to find space. In a tight game we drew 2-2.
The final game facing the powerhouse of Rowville, was always going to be a tough task. An early goal saw us fall behind, when a booming goal kick from Sebastien G was launched out to Troy D, who played a nice ball to Adam J. Adam held his composure, chipping in the goal. We unfortunately fell 3-1 down, however we were the only team to score against Rowville.
The boys showed great fight and resilience across the day.

The team showed plenty of resilience across a challenging set of fixtures.
The opening match against Kew ended in an unfortunate 1–0 defeat, with the players competing well but unable to find the equaliser despite a determined performance.
In the second game against Ashwood, the team responded brilliantly after falling behind, producing an impressive comeback to secure a 3–1 victory through strong teamwork, determination, and a much-improved attacking display.
The final match resulted in a 4–0 loss against the strongest team in the competition, Rowville, but the players continued to work hard and never stopped competing against quality opposition.
Overall, the tournament highlighted the team's character, particularly their ability to bounce back after setbacks. Dinouk S and Jacob D were deservedly named MVPs for their outstanding performances, consistently leading by example with their effort, skill, and commitment throughout the competition.

The Year 8 girls soccer team fought hard and played three matches at the EMR regional competition.
Our standout game ended in a 2-2 draw with both Aurelia S and Antonia C finding the back of the net.
The team displayed exceptional teamwork and playmaking to create plenty of attacking opportunities throughout the game.
The opposition scored an unfortunate equaliser in the last minute though the girls still maintained a positive attitude and had a fun day. MVPs of the day were Aurelia S and Chelsea T.

The Year 8 girls had a cracking day out at netball recently, their first game was against Canterbury Girls which was a difficult start to the day with their strong defenders causing havoc.
Although the girls adjusted well winning lots of ball unfortunately it just wasn’t enough as they came away with a loss, the score being 21-11.
With heads held high for the next game the girls came out firing against Mallauna creating a close match all throughout the game. The girl's quick movements and plays downcourt were too much for Mallauna giving them the win.
To finish off the day the girls came up to a very tough game against Rowville, the girls played some fantastic netball against such a good team managing to stay positive during the whole game. We finished out the game with some fun and different positions to end on a high.
Unfortunately, we didn’t make finals but we're very proud of the way the girls played and represented Box Hill High.

After a convincing win at district netball, the Box Hill Intermediate boys came up against EMR regionals competition.
They started the day off with arguably their hardest game against Balwyn High. After a tough match the final score was 17-11.
They next took on Ashwood where they had a convincing win 20-4, showing the competition that they were here to play with some fast transition offense.
This led them confidently into their final match against Wantirna, a win would see us progress to the semi final. The game was played at a high quality and fast pace. An after the siren penalty saw Wantirna tie the scores at 22-22.
Ultimately, it wasn’t enough to move onto finals but the boys represented Box Hill High wonderfully, with students Jude B and Sam N being rewarded MVP for the day.
Speed, precision, accuracy and camaraderie were in abundance when the BHHS senior girls netball team took the court at the Eastern Regional Finals on Monday 3 August.
The first game against Canterbury Girls was tough and our team fought hard right to the very end, narrowly losing in the final quarter.
The second game against Auburn was another tough match but we came away with a win. Our defenders were dominant and managed to win the ball in multiple contests and our dynamic mid court team powered the ball swiftly to the shooters who converted it on the scoreboard.
But this incredible team left their best until last in the final match against Rowville. 11-3 down in the first quarter, the team were dynamite in the second, third and fourth quarter, chasing down every ball and winning multiple contests on court, and while we didn't come away with a win, the team bowed out of the Regional competition with their heads held high; exhausted, elated and very proud of their efforts.
A massive congratulations to our four year 12 students, Lyla, Claire, Samira and Sophie for their dedication and leadership on the day.

The team travelled to Hawthorn Hockey Centre to take on EMR Senior Hockey.
In the first game we played against Ashwood in what was an extremely close match before Darcy M broke through scoring an off a short corner. Jayven Y made some great saves to ensure we held on to a 1-0 win.
The second match was against Balwyn, who had earlier dominated against Ashwood, our midfield of Darcy M and Flynn M along with Claire S was on top early and we managed to hit the lead with another Darcy short corner.
Unfortunately, the dam wall finally broke in the second half with Balwyn scoring 4 goals and winning the match 4-1. Well done to all. MVP's were Darcy M and Flynn M.

Intermediate Hockey saw our boys and girls teams take on East Doncaster in a single full-length match for the Division title.
The boys were outclassed by last year's state champions 9-1 but we still managed a few shots and Flynn M scored a goal late in the game.
The girls lost 3-0 against. A great effort all round against impressive opposition.
MVP's were Flynn M and Ari K for the boys and Blessry B and Kirsten V for the girls.

Boys: 1st Place Winners!!
MVPs: Marcus Z & Arthur K
Girls: 1st Place Winners!!
MVPs: Ava W & Sabine S
