Year Level Captain's Report

Hello everyone, I’m Kate and I’m the Year Level Leader for Year 9!
For the last few weeks, Beaumaris Secondary College’s Year 9 students have been undergoing a series of different tests, all centred around one main focus: Morrisby. We, as a year group, have had the wonderful opportunity to take a few aptitude tests to discover which career path is best suited for us and better understand our individual strengths.
The BSC Careers Team, Ms Martin, Mr Crameri, and Ms Farrow, have also been involved in the Morrisby interviews as part of the My Career Insights program.
All students who participated received a report and had the chance to speak to a Morrisby-trained career professional who helped us understand the report.
Who knows? This process might have just uncovered the next scientist to make a medical breakthrough, a superstar athlete or a community leader.
On 27 March, Miss Keating and ten of BSC’s student leaders participated in the Melbourne Secondary Youth Leadership Conference, held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and run by the Youth Leadership Academy of Australia. The conference brought together student leaders from secondary schools across Melbourne, who listened to speeches from enterprising leaders around Australia, including the CEO of The Flourish Journey and the Founder of We Are Mobilise. It was also a great opportunity to meet new people and learn new things.
Finally, we come together on 2 April to farewell our founding principal, Ms Chaves. She has done an amazing job building the community we now enjoy at BSC, and we wish her all the very best of luck in her next adventure.
I would like to wish all students a safe and enjoyable end-of-term break!
Thanks
Kate O
