Year 7 Maths PBL: Exploring Data with Smarties and Snakes

Year 7 students recently explored data analysis through a fun, hands-on project involving smarties and snakes. Working collaboratively, they applied their knowledge of Frequency Tables, Column Graphs, Dot Plots, Stem & Leaf Plots and Histograms to analyse real-world data.

Students were assessed on key concepts such as mean, median, mode, range, interquartile range, frequency, maximum and minimum values. This project highlighted both teamwork and real-world connections to mathematics, reinforcing key skills in a creative and engaging way.
