Third Sunday of Lent - Christ the Living Water

This week’s Gospel tells the story of the Samaritan woman’s transformative encounter with Jesus at the well.  After speaking with him face to face, she’s compelled to share the incredible man she’s met with others.

Lent invites us to seek a similar personal encounter with Jesus – perhaps again or for the first time.  Through prayer, Scripture reflection, quiet contemplation or simply recognising Jesus in those around us, we can build a personal relationship with Him.

In the Gospel, Jesus reveals Himself as the living water.  Just as water sustains life, Jesus offers us spiritual nourishment that fills our hearts and gives us hope.  When we truly encounter Jesus and recognise this relationship, like the Samaritan woman, we’re moved to respond through our words actions and care for others.  This includes demonstrating our school values of respect, responsibility and resilience in our interactions.

During Lent, let’s take time to pause reflect and seek moments of personal encounter with Jesus.  Allow His living water to renew and guide us.
