Mazenod Junior Football Club

Time flies — we’re already approaching Round 5!

This season has been full of meaningful moments, from commemorating ANZAC Day, celebrating Mother’s Day, and showing our gratitude during Umpire Appreciation Round. On the field, we've experienced a mix of wins and challenges, but throughout it all, the team spirit and support from our community have remained strong.

Round 5 - Leon Ioppolo Medal Game

This round holds special meaning as we host the Leon Ioppolo Medal Game, a cherished tradition in our club’s history.

Leon Ioppolo, a Mazenod College Old Boy, tragically passed away in 2005 during his final year of school. He was the beloved son of Joanne and Tony Ioppolo and a proud brother to Simon and Justine.

Leon had a deep love for football. He played with heart and grit for the Lesmurdie Saints and later for Mazenod Junior Football Club, where he was known for his courage, determination, and loyalty to his mates.

To honour his memory, the Leon Ioppolo Medal is awarded to the ‘Best on Ground’ in a match played against a Hills team. The recipient is chosen by members of the Ioppolo family who attend the game. It’s a heartfelt tribute to a young man who truly embodied the spirit of our sport.

🎉 National Volunteer Week 2025 is Here! 🎉

Monday 19 – Sunday 25 May

This week, we proudly join the nation in celebrating the incredible contributions of volunteers across our communities.

Thanks to the generous support of Volunteering WA and Lotterywest, we’ve received a grant that allows us to recognise and thank our amazing volunteers.

This support empowers clubs like ours across Western Australia to say a BIG thank you to the people who give their time, energy, and passion to make a real difference—on and off the field. We are deeply grateful for each and every one of you.
