Senior School News

Our Year 12 students are closing in on the last few weeks of formal schooling; it is a busy time for both our students and our Year 12 teachers and student management team.

The Year 12 student leaders are collaboratively planning a range of fun activities to help celebrate the final couple of weeks of school. It’s important for our students to be able to enjoy the last few lessons together, whilst maintaining focus on the exam period that lies ahead.

Practice exams will run throughout the first week of the upcoming school holidays. These are a valuable opportunity for students to get an authentic experience of the breadth of knowledge required to perform well on their final assessments. We encourage students to take these seriously, but also use them as a means of checking what they have retained and the areas of the course they need to focus their study efforts on. 

We also have two important events in the second week of next term: our final assembly, on the afternoon of Thursday 15th October, and Celebration Day, at Funfields, on Friday 16th October. Parents and carers are warmly welcome to join our final assembly. More information will be released shortly. We hope that all students can join us at Celebration Day – payment and consent on Compass is required by Friday 18th September.

We also have our Valedictory event on Wednesday 18th November, at Caulfield Racecourse. This event formalises the culmination of 13 years of education for our graduating class of 2026. Please check Compass for further details about securing your tickets for this wonderful evening.

Year 11 students participated in Community Day on Tuesday 8th September. The focus of this day was on building a sense of identity amongst our Year 11 cohort, as well as developing a healthy mindset leading into Year 12. The feedback from both students and staff indicated that students were really engaged in the activities which should set them up for a successful final year of studies.

Finally, a big thanks to Beck Tomkins who has stepped in as Year 11 Coordinator this term, replacing Elizabeth Tasiopoulos who has enjoyed some long service leave. We look forward to welcoming Elizabeth back to the team in Term 4.
