Congratulations Jason

We would like to recognise Jason Dong from year 9’s outstanding achievement in co-authoring an academic mathematics research paper.

The paper in question can be found at the link: https://arxiv.org/abs/2608.15670.

It deals with combinatorics, the study of ordering elements of sets, and finds the existence of an infinite sequence made up of 4 symbols which does not contain a type of repeating sequence known as an overlap, while an infinite string of numbers derived from the original sequence of symbols also does not contain the same repeating pattern.

As you can tell from my explanation, this is very complex and interesting mathematics, and outside my wheelhouse. 

Congratulations again to Jason for his contributions to the paper, and we wish him all the best for his future pursuits in academia.
