VCE-VM in 2027

Entry to the Vermont SC VCE-VM in 2027 is via an application process involving a written expression of interest and an interview.  Attendance, participation in school events, and previous student reports are also taken into consideration.

Suitable candidates for VM are those that wish to explore careers in trades, TAFE and direct employment from secondary school.  It is best suited for students who enjoy hands on, practical learning over traditional exams.

VCE-VM students participate directly in real world experiences via partnerships with local organisations such as aged care facilities, primary schools and local businesses.  This requires students to demonstrate a willingness to learn outside the traditional classroom environment, travel to external locations and engage with members of the community. 

VCE-VM students are also given the opportunity to explore an area of interest via selecting one mainstream VCE subject to study.  Most VM students will choose to do this as a non-scored study.

The core VCE-VM subjects run on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, allowing students to attend TAFE on a Wednesday to gain a further qualification, with the possibility of a work placement on Friday (negotiated with VSC Pathways).
