Year 8 News  

Hotham City camp was a wonderful success. We spent three days and two nights living on Collins St, just down from Southern Cross Station. We travelled in on the train from Mitcham Station and then caught trams and walked to all our activities. Most of us got close to 50,000 steps or more!

A highlight was the first evening when we were out on the town at a karaoke and board games venue. I think the teachers had the best time, but the students were amazing at the karaoke - such a fun evening!

The second night was split between games at Melbourne Aquatic Centre and rock climbing. Some students certainly have no fear of heights and amazing fitness!

Our day activities were many and varied, with students walking and riding around the city in their activity groups. One group even got onto bikes for a great way to see the city. Another group admired the graffiti in the laneways of our fascinating city on a specially designed tour. We all finished off our camp with a delicious tour through the Queen Vic Market - and we didn't come home with too many live chickens on the train. You can really buy anything at the Queen Vic!

Thanks to all our wonderful staff for giving up their time (and energy) to support our camp. Well done also to the students who hardly complained at all about their sore feet, treated each other with kindness and were very good company.
