Visual Arts Foundation - Grade 4
Foundation
This term in Visual Arts, Foundation students have been exploring different materials and techniques through hands on art experiences. Students created colourful plasticine self-portraits, learning how to shape and form facial features while creating artworks that represented themselves. They also explored texture through painted paper activities, experimenting with a variety of tools including brushes, forks, texture combs, stamps and sticks to create interesting lines, patterns and textured effects in paint. Students enjoyed investigating how different materials and tools can create unique artistic results. 🎨✨
Grades One and Two
This term in Visual Arts, Grade One and Two students have been exploring colour through a range of hands on art experiences. Students investigated primary and secondary colours by experimenting with colour mixing and discovering how red, blue and yellow can be combined to create orange, green and purple. They explored marbling techniques using primary colours to observe how colours interact and blend together, before creating their own textured clay colour wheels by mixing primary clay colours and arranging them in the correct order. Students also explored drawing through guided visual activities using different lines and shapes. 🎨🌈
Grades Three and Four
This term in Visual Arts, Grade 3 and 4 students have been exploring a variety of drawing and design techniques. Students are exploring typography and design by creating shadow writing art folders and experimenting with interest based and graffiti style lettering styles. Through practising, refining and transferring their designs to final artworks using Sharpie and Posca markers, students are developing their ability to make artistic choices and express their ideas creatively. 🎨✏️
