Student Voice

As part of our Term 3 Planning Day, the Grade 5/6 teachers met with our Student Voice Leaders (SVLs) to gather student perspectives and ideas. Representing their classmates, the SVLs shared what has helped them learn, the experiences they have enjoyed most and their thoughts on ways to enhance learning opportunities across the Grade 5/6 area.
Students identified a range of activities that have supported their success this term, including silent reading, writing, maths games, European Handball and collaborative learning tasks. They explained that opportunities to work with partners, use mini whiteboards, participate in brain breaks and learn in different environments help them stay motivated, focused and confident in their learning.
The discussion also generated many exciting ideas for the future. Students expressed interest in more group presentations, creative projects and online projects. We thank our Student Voice Leaders for the maturity and thoughtfulness they brought to the discussion. Their input helps ensure that student perspectives remain at the centre of our planning and decision-making as we prepare for another exciting term of learning.
