Senior School update

It has been a busy start to Term 4 with celebrations of our departing Class of 2025 and upcoming assessments.

Year 12

The Year 12s have worked incredibly hard as they conclude their studies and prepare for the exams.

During the second week of the school holidays, all VCE students completed their practice exams which provides invaluable feedback.

As always, it is an incredibly special time of the year as we celebrate the Year 12 students as their time at Koonung comes to a close. During their final week of classes, students enjoyed a number of dress up days which culminated with the signing of shirts throughout Friday - the final day of classes.

Students, staff and families formally recognised the cohort throughout Monday. The College community held its annual breakfast in the senior area - a big thank you to all the families in attendance, the rotary volunteers cooking the breakfast and the staff support setting up. This lead into a school assembly, attended by local MP Paul Hamer as students were recognised and walked out of the gym together for one last time as families watched from the balcony.

Over 500 students, families and staff attended the Graduation Dinner that evening. It was a wonderful way to celebrate their entire Koonung journey and recognise all the student achievements.

We would like to wish VCE-VM  students who have already completed their studies the very best as they take on new opportunities. We encourage students to continue to study at school, maintain a balanced routine with ample sleep and seek feedback from teachers as they begin the exam period with English on Tuesday morning. The VCAA exam timetable can be accessed with the following link - VCE examination timetable - Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority

Year 11

Our Year 11 students have recognised how quickly the year has gone with just 7 days of regular classes before the Semester 2 exams. Many Year 11s are also completing VCAA exams and we wish them the best!  Please see below the exam timetable for the upcoming Year 11 exams that will take place from Monday 10 November

We encourage the Year 11 students to use this time to prepare appropriately and set themselves up for next year. Furthering this, the Edge program will begin 24 November where the Year 11 students will have a week with their Year 12 classes to prepare for the following year - it's vital to attend all of these sessions.

Year 10

The Year 10s have been working diligently preparing for their exams and consolidating good habits with VCE studies approaching next year. The Year 10's will begin their exams on Monday 17 November. The students have also been extremely lucky with a range of programs to enhance their engagement; including alumni presentations to students and excursions to Monash University and the RYDA Program.

We look forward to celebrating with the Year 10s through their end of Year BBQ!

As always, please speak to the senior school team if you have any questions or require any support.
