Rhythms and Instruments of West Africa
On Tuesday 2 September, our students were treated to a vibrant and interactive program celebrating the musical cultures of Ghana, Guinea and Senegal.
The session introduced students to a variety of traditional instruments, including the djembe, dun dun drums, shekere, talking drum and balafon. Students had the chance to get hands-on with the instruments, creating rhythms together and experiencing the joy of African drumming first-hand.
French language was woven throughout the program, giving students the opportunity to practise their skills while learning about the music and cultures of French-speaking West Africa.
This unique experience was both educational and fun, allowing students to connect language learning with music and culture in an engaging way.
