Around Our School

Melbourne International Comedy festival comes to Frankston High School!

On Friday 19 April, Year 9 students of Japanese were treated to a comedy show and Japanese language workshop by comedy presenter Takashi Wakasugi. Students saw Takashi’s stand up comedy show where they learnt about the differences between Japanese and Australian culture and also had a chance to learn new Japanese expressions and kanji characters.

Thank you very much to Takashi who took time out from the Melbourne International Comedy festival to come to Frankston High to present his show.

HOUSE CROSS COUNTRY

On Wednesday 17 April we ran our House Cross Country. The Year 7 students participated in their 3km run during Periods 3 and 4, narrowly avoiding the downpour! Our Year 8 and any students from Years 9-12 who signed up, ran either a 3km or 5km race during Periods 5 and 6, unfortunately through a little bit of precipitation.

All students participated in true House spirit, with the top 10 students from each age-group going through to NPD Cross Country on Thursday 6 June. I would like to take this opportunity to remind students that Semper Squad has an athletics training session on Wednesday mornings and a distance running session on Thursday mornings, and that they can come and see the sports office if they would like to attend these.

The top three finishers in each year level are:

Year 7 Girls- Mia Tyler, Eva Braverman and Lucy Stevens

Year 7 Boys- Ollie Deitz, Isaac Roberts and Ray Lonie

Year 8 Girls- Annabel Classon, Sya Piquet and Yang Yang Chwa

Year 8 Boys- Sam Burgess, Zak Ciurej and Brodie Latcham

Year 9 Girls- Maria Papadimitriou, Kiara Calvert and Tegan Platt

Year 9 Boys- Finn Davies, Mor Yang and Seb Esparas
