ALUMNI News

There will be a number of inspiring and engaging visits from Frankston High School alumni during Term 2, starting with mortgage broker Alana Joynes.

Alana is returning to Frankston High School to speak to Foundation Math students about her pathway since finishing school in 2010 and to discuss the importance of financial literacy in real world situations. She will use this session to speak about the property market and what’s involved in buying and selling a house.

Next week, there will be a Year 10 Careers Assembly ahead of the students’ upcoming Work Experience. Students will hear from three alumni with very different post school career paths.

Renee Fox graduated from Frankston High School in 2016 and studied Occupational Therapy before changing direction and is now a Bachelor and Honours graduate in Exercise and Sport Science and Bachelor of Business Sports Management from Deakin University. She currently runs a podcast called ‘Perfectly Flawed’ about mental health in sport and works at MS Plus in their fund-raising events team.

Robert Bleumink graduated from Frankston High School in 2004 and initially completed a bachelor of education at Deakin University. He has since had a diverse career trajectory and is an experienced sales professional with a background in Industrial / Commercial / Wholesale markets. He is currently equipment specialist at Burson Automotive.

Lisa Fowler graduated from Frankston High School in 2009 and moved on to study Arts/Law at Monash University. She is now an experienced administrative and Human Rights lawyer and is Deputy Director of Legal Services at Women’s Legal Service Victoria.

These alumni have very distinct career paths and will be able to speak to students about their career journeys and why they took the directions they did. They will also discuss some general workplace expectations and talk about their own year 10 work experience. We are very much looking forward to hearing from Renee, Robert and Lisa.

The alumni program at Frankston High School will continue to inspire and inform with relatable insight from its past students throughout Term 2 and indeed the year.
