BULLETIN | Campus Principals'

JUNIOR SCHOOL | Campus Principal

Mr John Simon

There are a number of invaluable opportunities coming up for our Junior School students designed to promote wellbeing and connectedness.

REACH will be coming out to run workshops with our Year 8 students on Thursday 2 May. REACH is an organisation dedicated to empowering youth and transforming communities with the belief that every young person has the potential to excel and make a positive impact in the world. The facilitators will be running the Respect workshop. This aims to build awareness of the impact of ‘crossing the line’ both online and in the ‘real world’. It explores the reasons behind negative words and behaviours to identify the impacts upon others. The workshop aims to build empathy, support connections and create positive impacts on the group as a whole.

Additionally, on Tuesday 14 May, The Pat Cronin Foundation will be facilitating a workshop with our Year 8 cohort exploring the impacts of conflict and violence in what is sure to be a powerful and moving presentation.

We are also looking forward to welcoming back the Cybersafety Project to run workshops with our Year 7 students on Wednesday 8 May. The engaging presentation, Thriving Online, focuses on:

  • Understanding personal, private and public spaces and the types of information they share online
  • Recognising the tactics cyber criminals use to mislead, deceive and extort them
  • Being aware of risky behaviours particularly when making friends online
  • Understanding the risks of sharing intimate content
  • Knowing the key steps to take control and where to get help to report abuse and cyberbullying.

The Cybersafety Project are also running an online workshop for parents/carers on Wednesday 22 May from 7.00-8.00pm. Please see the flyer in SCHOOL NOTICES for more information and register here. We look forward to seeing you online!

MIDDLE SCHOOL | Campus Principal

Ms Leah Hannas

In Term 2, our Middle School students will have their exams on Wednesday 19 June and Thursday 20 June. Year 9 and 10 students will have English, Maths and Science exams over the two days.

From Monday 24 June to Friday 28 June, Year 9 students will participate in Discovery Week and Year 10 students will have Work Experience. Year 10 Work Experience forms were due at the end of Term 1, any remaining forms must be submitted as soon as possible.

A friendly reminder that we have high expectations of our students to demonstrate our school values of respect, responsibility, empathy, optimism, persistence, and integrity, every day. This includes adhering to the school uniform policy, refraining from wearing jewelry or accessories, from using mobile phones and chewing gum on campus. We express our gratitude to all students who persist in upholding these values and expectations.

SENIOR SCHOOL | Campus Principal

Ms Tiffany Greenhill

Welcome back to Term 2!

We hope everyone had a fantastic Easter Break and that our students were able to enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation before diving into what promises to be a busy term ahead. It was great to welcome our students back on Tuesday 16 April, especially with the reopening of the Presentation Space after the restorations due to water damage over the December holidays. The Senior Team has been truly impressed with how our students have been utilising this space, including studying before Period 0 and after school.

Please see SENIOR SCHOOL page for important information on Senior School assessments, exams and attendance.

We are excited about what Term 2 holds for our VCE and VCE VM students. Let's continue to work together to ensure a successful and fulfilling term. Remember, we are here to support you every step of the way.
