Welcome to St Joseph’s College Resource Centre

Welcome to Term 4!

The weeks are flying by and as usual, the Library team were busy at work during the school holidays to set up new displays, order and add to book collections, and schedule programs and activities for students to undertake during Term 4.

Travelling through time @ Kildare Campus

At our Kildare Campus we have started the term with a look at our historical fiction collection. We have a range of fiction novels that can take students through a time machine back to different time periods from the Middle Ages, to World War II in the 1940s, to Hurricane Katrina in 2005!

Come and check out the display and see which time period takes your interest and curiosity!

World Space Week @ Brigidine Campus

This week at the Brigidine Library, we are celebrating World Space Week! World Space Week is an international event that runs from October 4 - 10 in over 95 nations throughout the world. World Space Week is officially defined as "an international celebration of science and technology, and their contribution to the betterment of the human condition." Come and check out the great display and array of books that celebrate all things SPACE!

Term 4 Reminders

Our wonderful Library staff at Brigidine would like to remind all students of the following expectations:

  • CLASS PASSES: if you have a class pass to work in the Library during a class period, please present to the borrow desk so the staff are aware of your presence during this time.
  • EXAM STUDY: October means that exams are fast approaching for our VCE students and therefore these students will be requiring a lot more quiet study time in the library. Please be respectful of these students if you choose to come into the library over the coming weeks.
  • KILDARE DOORS: When entering and exiting the Kildare Library, please ensure all students are only using the sliding doors on the North Side of the building. Too many Year 7s are not using the correct doors to move in and out of the library during class and break times.
  • RESPECT: As always, staff expect all students entering our libraries to use politeness and respect when communicating. Our library teams are always willing to help with all enquiries, but we just request that everyone remembers their manners at all time.

With thanks and kind regards,

The St Joseph’s Brigidine & Kildare Library Team
