Speak Percussion Performance

On Friday 2nd August, five BSC students performed at the Bairnsdale Art Gallery with ‘Speak Percussion’ in a program entitled Percussion, Conversation and Degustation. The students worked with the Speak Percussion team the day before and had a rehearsal at the art gallery on the Friday before the concert. Students explored a range of sounds from both traditional and created instruments with the performance being based on a structured improvisation. 

Music Soirees 

This week has been Soiree week. The first soiree featured a range of students from Years 7 to 11 performing a range of styles of music. The night finished with a beautiful saxophone quartet comprising Emily, Cody, James and Lynette. It was great for the students to hear such a polished item. These Soiree performances are a ‘learning task’ for all Instrumental Music students and will be reported on by their music teachers on Compass. All performers are to be commended on their performances. They are all winners, just by getting up and performing. Look out for our next newsletter to see photos from Soirees 2 and 3.

Students who are unable to attend any nights will be able to perform at a lunchtime next week.
